Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha passed away on 11 June 2026, at the age of 47. Thailand loses one of the most respected figures of its younger royal generation.
A Princess Close to Her People
The eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, she embodied for many a precise idea of duty: a princess close to her people, devoted to justice and to the dignity of the most vulnerable. In a country where the royal family holds a sacred place, she stood as a living link between the Crown and the everyday concerns of ordinary citizens.
That link was never abstract. It was measured in her commitment to women's rights and to a more humane justice system, in particular for those whom prison had rendered invisible. Where an official role might have stopped at protocol, she carried these causes with seriousness, in Thailand and well beyond its borders.
"The Thai people mourn more than a princess. They mourn a presence that mattered."
A Nation in Mourning
This constancy explains the affection people held for her. For many Thais, she was not a distant figure but a familiar presence, tied to real causes and to a certain idea of public service.
Her passing, after a long ordeal borne with dignity, opens a period of reflection for the whole nation. The country gathers around the royal family, in the respect and the silence that such a loss calls for.
In Remembrance
The entire THEVA team joins in this mourning and pays tribute to the memory of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, with respect and gratitude.
