In late September, Bangkok went through one of its most intense rainfall episodes in recent years. In the district of Khlong Sam Wa, one of the hardest hit, Peerawat Hansirikul, President and Founder of THEVA Group, organised support for families affected by the floods.

A City Under Water

On September 26, 2026, a flood emergency was declared in the capital after 48 hours of continuous rain, and the authorities classified all 50 districts of the city as disaster zones. The east of the city was hit particularly hard. Rainfall over 24 hours reached 190.5 mm in Khlong Sam Wa, and the district was listed among the eight areas considered critical by the city administration.

In total, around 329,000 families, some 700,000 people, were affected across Bangkok.

Support for the Families of Khlong Sam Wa

In response, Peerawat Hansirikul organised a distribution of meals, drinking water and essential goods for affected families in Khlong Sam Wa. The distribution came with financial support to help households cope with the first costs of the damage.

The initiative was carried out together with the Nimit Mai police station, its community committee and local stakeholders in the district, all working to help residents of the area.

Roots That Matter

However large a company grows, it remains made of people, who come from the same neighbourhoods and the same communities as those going through a difficult time today. For Peerawat Hansirikul, helping residents at such a moment was a natural thing to do. It is a way of never forgetting where we come from.

"However large a company grows, it remains made of people."

Solidarity Continues

The water has started to recede in several parts of Bangkok as drainage operations intensify. For many families, getting back to normal will still take time: homes to clean, belongings to replace, daily life to rebuild.

Our thoughts go to everyone affected by the floods, and our sincere thanks to the police officers, volunteers, rescue teams and residents who continue to work tirelessly. Together, we rise again.
